Why the pair worksPea is lysine-rich but limited in methionine and cysteine; rice is the reverse. Together they cover all nine indispensable amino acids that neither source covers alone.
Amino acid scoringPea protein isolate alone: PDCAAS about 0.89, DIAAS about 0.80. Rice alone is lysine-limited at 2.7-3.1% of total amino acids. Blend scored per lot on request.

This is a formulated protein system, not a single isolate, and the pairing is the point. Yellow pea protein isolate (Pisum sativum L.) is globulin-rich, high in lysine and arginine, and limited by methionine and cysteine; rice protein (Oryza sativa L.) is the mirror image, carrying methionine and cysteine to spare but limited by lysine at only 2.7-3.1% of total amino acids. Blending them - a 70:30 pea-to-rice protein contribution is our standard build - closes both gaps and gives complete coverage of all nine indispensable amino acids that neither source manages alone. For reference, pea protein isolate on its own carries a PDCAAS of about 0.89 and a DIAAS of about 0.80; the blend is scored per lot on request rather than quoted from a textbook. Two formulation realities are worth stating plainly before a buyer designs around this. Neither base truly dissolves. Pea protein solubility is pH dependent and bottoms out near its isoelectric point around pH 4.5, recovering above pH 7, while rice protein suspends rather than dissolves and will settle out of a still liquid - which makes the blend excellent in shakes, bars and bakery and unsuitable for a clear ready-to-drink. And both bases carry inherent flavour: a legume note from the pea, a mild cereal note from the rice. We supply agglomerated grades for cold-water wetting, deflavoured grades where inclusion is high, and a 200 mesh grind where mouthfeel in a bar or beverage matters. On the compliance side this row is genuinely clean, which is much of its commercial appeal. There is no milk, egg, soy, fish, crustacean, peanut, tree nut or gluten input, and neither pea nor rice is a declarable allergen under FSSAI, US FALCPA or EU Regulation 1169/2011 Annex II. The material is vegan and vegetarian with no bovine, porcine, marine or dairy contact at any stage; the rice fraction is produced by an enzymatic, hexane-free route, and pea is non-GM by source because no genetically modified field pea is in commercial cultivation. Two things still need active management: pea is a legume with documented cross-reactivity in peanut- and lupin-sensitive people, so shared-line risk should be declared regardless of what the labelling rules compel, and the rice fraction needs speciated inorganic arsenic testing on every lot.

Available grades

Unflavoured 80% base as standard; agglomerated and instantised grade for shaker and cold-water use; deflavoured grade where the legume note limits inclusion; 200 mesh fine grind for bars and beverage systems; organic certified to NPOP, NOP and EU rules on request; higher-protein builds using an 85% or 90% rice fraction; and leucine- or BCAA-topped versions where a declared per-serve amino acid figure is required.

Packaging: 20 kg or 25 kg multi-wall kraft paper bags with a food-grade PE inner liner; 500 kg FIBC bulk bags on request. Palletised and shrink-wrapped for export. Bulk density is low, so container loading is volume-limited rather than weight-limited - settle the container plan before you fix freight. Finished tubs, pouches and sachets can be filled to buyer artwork under a private-label agreement.
