Thovek supplies a bulk free-form amino acid blend built on two well-characterised chemistries: L-citrulline DL-malate (CAS 54940-97-5, quoted in trade for both the 1:1 and 2:1 complexes) and L-arginine base (CAS 74-79-3, C6H14N4O2, MW 174.20, USP assay 98.5-101.5% of C6H14N4O2 on the dried basis). Our house ratio is 60:40 citrulline malate to arginine, and we build any split from 80:20 to 20:80. L-arginine hydrochloride (CAS 1119-34-2), L-arginine alpha-ketoglutarate 2:1 (CAS 5256-76-8) and unsalted L-citrulline (CAS 372-75-8) are available as substitutions inside the same blend. Origin is the commercial question on this pair, and it is worth putting in writing. Both amino acids here are produced by microbial fermentation of plant-derived carbohydrate using Corynebacterium strains — not by keratin acid hydrolysis, a route still in industrial use for L-arginine that starts from animal hair and feather protein and cannot support a vegan declaration. Every lot ships with its manufacturing route stated on the certificate of analysis. The blend is vegan, and free of milk, egg, soy, fish, crustacean, gluten and tree nut. In formulation, the malate salt carries its own acidity and helps wet the arginine base, which is otherwise slow to dissolve at high load; buyers running effervescent or stick-pack formats usually take the instantised grade.
