This is a dry blend of four chemically defined actives, not a compound in its own right: creatine monohydrate (CAS 6020-87-7) with L-leucine, L-isoleucine and L-valine held at the conventional 2:1:1 ratio. The standard build is 37.5% creatine monohydrate and 62.5% BCAA by weight, which puts 3 g of creatine and 5 g of branched-chain amino acids into an 8 g serve. Other splits are blended to order, including 1:1 and 1:2 creatine-to-BCAA ratios and leucine-weighted 4:1:1 or 8:1:1 BCAA fractions for brands that want the leucine figure to lead the panel. Creatine monohydrate assays 98.0-102.0% on the dried basis against the USP monograph and carries 87.9% creatine base, the balance being water of crystallisation, so a loss on drying of 10.5-12.5% is normal and not a defect. The purity limits that matter are the ones set out in the EFSA 2004 AFC opinion on creatine monohydrate: creatinine not more than 100 mg/kg, dicyandiamide not more than 50 mg/kg, and dihydro-1,3,5-triazine not detectable. Each amino acid assays not less than 98.5% on the dried basis. Because creatine converts to creatinine in warm, moist or acidic liquid, the blend is specified for dry formats and shaker use; any ready-to-drink low-pH application needs its own stability work before a shelf life is committed. Solubility is the practical constraint on the format. Creatine monohydrate is only slightly soluble at roughly 13 g/L and L-leucine sits near 22 g/L, so an 8 g serve in 300 mL of water forms a suspension rather than a clear solution. A 200 mesh micronised creatine grade and a lecithin-instantised blend both improve the in-glass result. On origin, the creatine is synthetic, made from sarcosine and cyanamide with no animal input, and the three amino acids are supplied as fermentation-derived grades produced on non-animal media, with the production route stated on each lot certificate. The blend is free of milk, egg, soy, fish, crustacean, gluten, peanut and tree nut, and is vegan with no bovine, porcine, gelatin or marine material.
