Thovek manufactures antioxidant vitamin capsules to buyer specification, bringing vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E together in one unit dose. The three are grouped because they work in different compartments of the body. Ascorbic acid (C6H8O6, molecular weight 176.12) is water-soluble and acts as a reducing agent in the aqueous phase, and is also the cofactor that allows prolyl and lysyl hydroxylases to convert procollagen into stable triple-helical collagen. dl-alpha-Tocopheryl acetate (C31H52O3, molecular weight 472.7) is lipid-soluble and contributes to the protection of membrane lipids from oxidative damage. Vitamin A, supplied as retinyl acetate or retinyl palmitate, is required for normal vision and for the maintenance of normal skin and mucous membranes. Vitamin C regenerates oxidised vitamin E back to its active form, which is the practical reason the pair is so often formulated together rather than sold separately. Capsules are filled on automatic encapsulation lines using bovine or fish gelatin shells, or HPMC shells for vegetarian and vegan ranges; a softgel route is available where the buyer prefers vitamin A and vitamin E carried in an oil base. Size 0 and size 00 shells cover fill weights of roughly 400 to 750 mg. Vitamin A and vitamin C are dosed with a manufacturing overage so that label claim is held across the declared shelf life, and the blend is worked at controlled humidity because ascorbic acid is hygroscopic. Strengths are set against the rules of the destination market rather than a fixed house standard: vitamin A is declared in micrograms retinol activity equivalent (1 IU corresponds to 0.3 µg retinol) and vitamin E in milligrams of tocopheryl acetate. Zinc, selenium, mixed carotenoids and standardised plant extracts such as grape seed or green tea can be built into the same base. Finished capsules ship in Alu-PVC or Alu-Alu blisters, HDPE bottles of 30 to 120 with induction seal and desiccant, or in bulk for the buyer's own packing line. Private label covers brand name, artwork, market-specific label copy, cartons and leaflets, and formulations can be developed from a buyer brief or adapted from Thovek's standing house formulas to keep first-order quantities workable. Each batch is released with a certificate of analysis covering assay by HPLC, disintegration, loss on drying, heavy metals and microbiology. Importer documentation includes the FSSAI manufacturing licence, GMP and HACCP certificates, free sale certificate, certificate of origin, allergen, GMO and BSE/TSE statements, material safety data sheet, stability summary, and halal or kosher certification where the market requires it.
