Multivitamin Syrup

Thovek manufactures oral multivitamin syrup to customer specification for supplement brands, pharmacy own-label ranges and importers. A liquid format is chosen where the end user cannot easily swallow a tablet or capsule — paediatric and geriatric ranges in particular — and where a flexible dose by volume is wanted rather than a fixed unit. The syrup is compounded in a jacketed vessel under controlled temperature, filtered, and filled on a volumetric line into light-protective packs. The base is either a sucrose syrup or a sugar-free base built on sorbitol and maltitol for diabetic-suitable and low-sugar ranges. Water-soluble actives — the B-complex group (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12) and vitamin C — dissolve directly; the fat-soluble vitamins A, D3, E and K are used in water-dispersible or emulsified forms so they stay uniformly distributed through the batch and through shelf life. Iron, zinc, iodine, lysine and taurine are frequently added where the brief calls for them. Formulation work on a syrup is more demanding than on a solid dose: pH is controlled to protect thiamine and ascorbic acid, chelating and antioxidant systems are used to limit metal-catalysed oxidation, overages are set from real stability data rather than rule of thumb, and preservation uses sodium benzoate or potassium sorbate within the limits permitted in the destination market. Flavour is developed with you — orange, mango, mixed fruit, strawberry and vanilla are the usual starting points — and colours are selected against the additive rules of the importing country. Indian-market product is licensed under the Food Safety and Standards (Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use, Food for Special Medical Purpose, Functional Food and Novel Food) Regulations, 2016 in food product category 13.6, with the daily dose held at or below one RDA against the ICMR-NIN values; export strengths are declared against EU NRVs under Annex XIII of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 or against US Daily Values for a Supplement Facts panel under 21 CFR 101.36. Amber PET or amber glass is used in place of a coating to give the light protection a solid dose gets from its film. Every batch is released against a certificate of analysis covering vitamin assay by HPLC, pH, specific gravity, viscosity, fill volume, preservative content, heavy metals and microbiological limits. Importers receive the GMP certificate, FSSAI manufacturing licence, certificate of free sale, export health certificate, allergen, alcohol-free and non-GMO statements, accelerated and real-time stability data, and a certificate of origin. Bottle size, dosing device, carton artwork and leaflet copy are all specified by the buyer, and trial batches can be run at modest volumes before a full production order.
