Thovek supplies potassium iodide (KI, CAS 7681-11-0) as a bulk raw material for supplement, food-fortification and pharmaceutical manufacture. At a molecular weight of 166.00 the salt carries 76.45 per cent iodine by weight, the highest loading of the commonly traded iodide sources, which makes it economical to dose in low-inclusion mineral premixes. Iodine is a structural constituent of the thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). Potassium iodide is one of the four iodine sources permitted in EU food supplements under Annex II of Directive 2002/46/EC, alongside potassium iodate, sodium iodide and sodium iodate. Material is offered to Ph. Eur. monograph 0186 / BP and IP specification — content 99.0 per cent to 100.5 per cent KI calculated on the dried substance, loss on drying not more than 1.0 per cent, heavy metals not more than 10 ppm, iron not more than 20 ppm and sulfates not more than 150 ppm — as well as FCC/food grade, feed grade and ACS reagent grade. The standard presentation is a white to almost white free-flowing crystalline powder; milling to 40-100 mesh is available where a dry-blend premix requires a tighter particle distribution. Each lot ships with a certificate of analysis covering identification, assay by titration, loss on drying, iron, sulfates, heavy metals by ICP-MS and microbiological limits. Third-party retesting to a buyer protocol can be arranged before despatch. Potassium iodide is hygroscopic and light-sensitive; aged or poorly protected material yellows as traces of free iodine are liberated, so packing and storage matter. Drums are lined, sealed and shipped protected from light and moisture, and stabilised grades are available for applications with extended blending or storage times. Documentation supplied with each shipment includes COA, MSDS, GMP and FSSC certificates, non-GMO and allergen declarations, with halal and kosher certification on request. Exported from India under ITC-HS 28276010.

Packaging: Packed in 25 kg HDPE drums with double food-grade LDPE inner liners, or 25 kg fibre drums with polyethylene liner; 50 kg drums and 1 kg trial packs available. Drums are palletised, strapped and shrink-wrapped for FCL or LCL export, and shipped protected from light and moisture given the hygroscopic and light-sensitive nature of the salt.
