Colloidal Trace Mineral Blend is a dark aqueous concentrate in which a broad spread of mineral elements is carried as a colloidal dispersion rather than as a simple ionic solution. The standard grade is produced by extracting mineral-rich humic shale, the weathered-lignite material also known as leonardite, with purified water. The humic and fulvic substances that come across with the minerals act as the natural dispersing matrix that keeps the particles suspended; IUPAC places the colloidal range at roughly 1 nm to 1 µm in at least one dimension, and that is the size band the dispersed phase occupies here. The result is a single liquid carrying magnesium, potassium, calcium, iron, zinc, manganese, copper, selenium and a long tail of further trace elements, each of them quantified by ICP-OES or ICP-MS on the lot actually shipped rather than assumed from a nominal profile. Because the mineral load comes out of a geological deposit rather than out of a reactor, contaminant control is the whole job. Aluminium is naturally abundant in shale-derived colloidal minerals and has a long history of turning up as one of the more prominent elements in this product category, so Thovek reports aluminium on every certificate instead of leaving it off the panel, and an aluminium-reduced grade is offered where a buyer's internal limit is tight. Arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury are run per lot by ICP-MS; default ceilings follow the ASEAN health-supplement guidance of 10 mg/kg lead, 5 mg/kg arsenic, 0.5 mg/kg mercury and 0.3 mg/kg cadmium, and tighter customer limits are accepted and written into the agreed specification. The material is vegan and vegetarian, contains no bovine, porcine or other animal-derived input, and is free of milk, egg, soy, fish, crustacean, gluten, peanut and tree nut. In use the concentrate is a mineral and electrolyte contribution to a finished liquid: supplement drops and shots, hydration and electrolyte concentrates, stick-pack and sachet fills, and the remineralisation of reverse-osmosis water. It is acidic, as fulvic-humic extracts are, so it should be diluted before it meets neutral or alkaline systems, otherwise the colloidal fraction can flocculate. Buyers selling into the EU should note that the European Commission's novel-food consultation record for mumijo, the shilajit-type material characterised by humic and fulvic acids together with minerals, treats it as not novel when used in or as a food supplement but novel in other food categories, so the intended food category needs settling before a launch. Available grades

Standard humic-shale grade, water-extracted and unflavoured. Aluminium-reduced grade for buyers with tight internal aluminium limits. Low-sodium marine grade built on desulphated sea bittern, the magnesium-chloride-rich mother liquor left after sodium chloride crystallises in solar salt works. Preservative-free grade for cold-chain or hot-fill buyers. A separate feed and agricultural grade of the same chemistry is available but is not food grade and is not interchangeable with the grades above.

Packaging: 1 L and 5 L food-grade HDPE jerricans, 30 kg and 60 kg HDPE drums, 250 kg drums and 1000 L HDPE IBCs, all opaque, tamper-evident and liner-compatible with an acidic mineral liquid. Store below 30 °C, out of direct sunlight, and protect from freezing. Re-agitate settled containers before drawing product.
