This is a finished oral tablet rather than a raw ingredient, and it is specified on the chemistry of what goes into it. The silicon carrier in the base build is horsetail herb, Equisetum arvense L., taken to the Ph. Eur. "Equiseti herba" monograph and standardised to not less than 7% silica expressed as SiO2. Horsetail is chosen over higher-titre sources because the monograph gives the batch a real identity test: a TLC profile, a minimum of 0.3% total flavonoids as isoquercitroside, and a specific check for the absence of Equisetum palustre, the marsh species that carries the palustrine alkaloid and is the main substitution risk in traded horsetail. A bamboo variant using Bambusa bambos stem extract at 70% silica is available where a higher silicon load per tablet is wanted. The vitamin side is D-biotin, CAS 58-85-5, C10H16N2O3S, MW 244.31, USP or Ph. Eur. grade at 97.5-100.5% assay on the dried basis. The reference build carries 2,500 micrograms of biotin alongside zinc 10 mg, selenium 55 micrograms, copper 1 mg and vitamin C 80 mg, which is 100% of the EU nutrient reference value for each of the four. That combination is deliberate: under Reg. (EU) 432/2012 biotin carries the authorised wording "Biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal hair", zinc carries separate authorised claims for normal hair, normal nails and normal skin, selenium for normal hair and normal nails, and copper for normal hair pigmentation. Silicon itself carries none - every silicon claim submitted under Article 13(1) was refused - so the label wording has to be built on the vitamin and mineral side while silica does the formulation work. Dose ceilings differ sharply by destination and that drives the build. FSSAI caps vitamins and minerals in Indian health supplements at one RDA, and the ICMR-NIN 2020 RDA for biotin is 40 micrograms a day, so a domestic Indian SKU looks nothing like a 5,000 or 10,000 microgram US hair tablet. We hold separate builds for each. The tablet is vegan and vegetarian with no gelatin, shellac, lactose or carmine, only amorphous silica is used as a flow aid, and the formula is free of all fourteen EU-declarable allergens. Minimum order is 100 kg of bulk tablets or 50,000 finished units, and we supply the full dossier - specification, CoA, allergen and origin statements, stability data and a nutritional declaration in the buyer's format.
