Collagen Beauty Drink Mix

Collagen Beauty Drink Mix

Hydrolysed collagen peptides with vitamin C and hyaluronate - flavoured drink powder or ready-to-drink liquid

Flavoured collagen drink built on 2-5 kDa hydrolysed peptides with vitamin C, hyaluronate and optional biotin and zinc. Bovine or marine collagen, declared. Stick packs, jars or RTD, made in India.

Specifications

CompositionHydrolysed collagen peptide base with vitamin C, sodium hyaluronate and optional biotin and zinc, plus flavour, acidulant, sweetener and anticaking system
Collagen identityHydrolysed collagen, also called collagen hydrolysate; predominantly Type I, made by controlled enzymatic hydrolysis of gelatin from hide, bone or fish skin and scale
Molecular weightAverage 2 to 5 kDa as standard; a low-molecular-weight grade below 1 kDa is available where clarity or mouthfeel in a cold acidic beverage is the binding constraint
Protein contentNot less than 90% on a dry basis, nitrogen times 5.55 - the collagen and gelatin factor, not the 6.25 used for general food protein, since collagen is about 18% nitrogen
Gel strengthNil. Collagen peptides have no Bloom value; that is the practical difference from gelatin and the reason the reconstituted drink stays liquid
Amino-acid signatureGlycine at roughly every third residue in the Gly-X-Y triple-helix repeat; hydroxyproline is the marker used to confirm identity as collagen
SolubilityCold-water soluble, clear at 10% w/v, viscosity close to water; no heating or blending equipment needed at the consumer end
Vitamin CL-ascorbic acid, CAS 50-81-7, C6H8O6; coated or uncoated depending on the flavour system, the acidulant load and the target shelf life
HyaluronateSodium hyaluronate, CAS 9067-32-7 (free acid 9004-61-9), from microbial fermentation and therefore non-animal; molecular weight selected by the buyer
Optional nutrientsD-biotin CAS 58-85-5 and zinc are the usual additions; both carry authorised EU claims, biotin for maintenance of normal skin and zinc for normal nails
Purity and microbiologyPh. Eur. gelatin pattern (monograph 0330): sulphur dioxide not above 50 mg/kg, heavy metals not above 10 ppm; Salmonella absent in 25 g, E. coli absent in 10 g
Allergen and originMarine collagen is a declarable fish allergen under EU Annex II and US FALCPA. Bovine and bubaline hide is bovine, not vegan or vegetarian. No milk, egg, soy, gluten or nut
Certification and documentsSpecies declaration, country of origin and TSE/BSE statement on every bovine lot; halal and kosher on qualifying sources; porcine on request, which excludes both
Formats, shelf lifeStick packs, jars or ready-to-drink bottles; 24 months for the powder below 25 C in the sealed pack.
HS code21069099 for the powder - the RTD liquid moves to 2202
Hydrolysed collagen - collagen peptides - is what you get when collagen is first converted to gelatin and then cut further by controlled enzymatic hydrolysis. That second cut is the entire product. It drops the average molecular weight to roughly 2 to 5 kDa, destroys the gelling behaviour so the material has no Bloom value at all, and leaves a powder that dissolves cold and clear at 10% w/v with a viscosity close to water. Gelatin gels and collagen peptides do not, and a buyer who confuses the two ends up with a drink that sets in the cup. Protein content runs at not less than 90% on a dry basis, calculated as nitrogen times 5.55 rather than the general-food 6.25, because collagen carries about 18% nitrogen. The amino-acid signature is the identity test: glycine sits at roughly every third residue in the Gly-X-Y repeat of the collagen triple helix, and hydroxyproline - which almost no other dietary protein carries in quantity - is the marker used to confirm the material really is collagen and not a cheaper protein hydrolysate. A beauty drink is not bulk peptide in a sachet. Around the collagen base sits L-ascorbic acid (CAS 50-81-7, C6H8O6), fermentation-derived sodium hyaluronate (CAS 9067-32-7; free acid 9004-61-9) at a molecular weight the buyer picks, and optionally D-biotin (CAS 58-85-5) and zinc, plus the acidulant, sweetener, flavour and anticaking system that make ten grams of protein powder pleasant to drink cold. Vitamin C is not decoration in this formula: it holds the EU authorised claim that it contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin, which is one of the few compliant statements a beauty drink can carry in Europe. Biotin's authorised claim covers the maintenance of normal skin and zinc's covers the maintenance of normal nails. The collagen peptides themselves hold no authorised EU health claim, and nothing here is offered as a treatment for any condition. Source is the commercially decisive question and it is settled before anything else in the brief. Bovine or bubaline hide gives Type I collagen and is the volume route out of India; it is bovine material, neither vegetarian nor vegan, and ships with species declaration, country of origin and TSE/BSE documentation, with halal and kosher certification available on qualifying lines. Marine collagen from fish skin and scale is also predominantly Type I, denatures at a lower temperature than the mammalian material, and carries a declarable fish allergen under EU Annex II and US FALCPA - a wrong or missing declaration there is a recall, not a paperwork problem. Porcine runs on request and rules out both halal and kosher. Purity is held on the gelatin pattern of European Pharmacopoeia monograph 0330, with sulphur dioxide not above 50 mg/kg and heavy metals not above 10 ppm, alongside Salmonella absent in 25 g. Formats are single-serve stick packs, bulk jars and canisters, and ready-to-drink bottles or shots - and the format changes the tariff line, which is dealt with in the classification note.

Available grades

Food and health-supplement grade finished beauty drink. Collagen source selectable as bovine or bubaline hide, marine fish skin and scale, or porcine on request. Peptide molecular weight at the standard 2-5 kDa or a low-MW grade below 1 kDa. Hyaluronate molecular weight selectable. Flavoured, sweetened and instantised builds, sugar-free and stevia builds, and unflavoured neutral builds. Powder stick pack, bulk jar or ready-to-drink liquid. FSSAI-licensed GMP manufacture with HACCP and ISO 22000; gluten-free; halal and kosher on qualifying bovine and marine sources. Not vegan or vegetarian in any build - collagen is an animal protein.

Packaging: Single-serve stick packs or sachets of 5-15 g in printed laminate, aluminium-foil-barrier film preferred over metallised PET because vitamin C and the flavour system both lose specification on moisture and oxygen pickup, cartoned in counts of 14, 20 or 30. Bulk consumer format runs as 200-500 g HDPE or PET jars with induction seal, tamper band and scoop. Ready-to-drink liquid fills into 50 ml PET or glass shot bottles or 250-330 ml bottles, hot-filled or aseptic to an agreed process. Unflavoured or unpacked bulk blend ships in double food-grade LDPE liners inside 20-25 kg fibre drums or laminated paper sacks. All formats are shrink-wrapped into 5-ply export corrugated shippers, strapped and palletised on ISPM-15 heat-treated pallets, batch-coded with manufacture and expiry at every packaging level.
