Calcium and Vitamin D3 Bone Support Tablets

This is a finished dosage product rather than a bulk raw material: Thovek supplies the pressed, coated and packed tablet made to the buyer's own strength, shape and artwork. The calcium side is normally calcium carbonate (CAS 471-34-1), which carries roughly 40% elemental calcium and therefore gives the smallest tablet for a given claim, or calcium citrate, Ca3(C6H5O7)2 (CAS 813-94-5), at roughly 21% elemental calcium, which needs a larger tablet but is the usual choice where a buyer wants a salt that is not dependent on gastric acid for dissolution. Blends of the two, and tricalcium phosphate as a third source, are all available. The vitamin side is cholecalciferol (CAS 67-97-0, C27H44O, MW 384.64), dosed against the USP and Ph.Eur. potency basis in which one International Unit equals 0.025 micrograms, so one microgram equals 40 IU. Common builds run 500 to 600 mg elemental calcium with 400 to 1000 IU (10 to 25 mcg) of D3 per tablet. Cholecalciferol is a fragile molecule inside a mineral-rich tablet, so it is added as a cold-water-dispersible beadlet, typically 100,000 IU/g on an acacia and modified-starch matrix, with a declared overage so that the HPLC assay still meets label claim at the end of shelf life. Two declarations matter commercially. First, origin: the standard commercial cholecalciferol is made from lanolin, the wax from sheep wool, which makes it vegetarian but not vegan; lichen-derived D3 or yeast-derived D2 is available where the buyer needs a vegan claim. Second, allergens: some D3 beadlets are built on fish or bovine gelatin rather than acacia, so if the finished pack must carry a fish-free or non-bovine declaration, the beadlet type has to be written into the specification and not left to the encapsulator's default. Every batch ships with a certificate of analysis covering calcium by titration or ICP-OES, vitamin D3 by HPLC, disintegration, friability, heavy metals and full microbiology, together with allergen and origin statements, a nutrition panel and a stability summary. Formats include HDPE jars, Alu-Alu blisters and bulk tablets for the buyer's own packing line. Thovek describes composition and established nutrient function only. Calcium and vitamin D are recognised nutrients with defined reference intakes in India (ICMR-NIN), the EU and the US, and any market-specific claim wording, dose cap or warning statement remains the buyer's responsibility to substantiate and register.
