This is a finished film-coated tablet built on three nutrients with well-established roles in normal metabolism, made for brands that want a compact daily SKU rather than a full multivitamin. The standard build carries 80 mg vitamin C as L-ascorbic acid (CAS 50-81-7, C6H8O6, MW 176.12), 10 to 12 mg elemental zinc and 40 to 55 micrograms of elemental selenium in a 750 to 1000 mg core. At 80 mg, 10 mg and 55 micrograms respectively, those three each deliver 100% of the EU nutrient reference values set out in Annex XIII of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011. Mineral form is the main formulation choice and it is left with the buyer. The chelated build uses zinc bisglycinate (CAS 14281-83-5) with L-selenomethionine (CAS 3211-76-5, C5H11NO2Se, MW 196.12). The salt build uses zinc citrate (CAS 546-46-3) or zinc gluconate (CAS 4468-02-4) with sodium selenite (CAS 10102-18-8, Na2SeO3, MW 172.95). All of these appear in Annex II of Directive 2002/46/EC as permitted sources for EU food supplements. Ascorbic acid is hygroscopic and oxidises, so the tablet is manufactured with a release overage of 100 to 150% of label for vitamin C and packed in alu-alu blister or an HDPE jar with desiccant, while the minerals hold to 90 to 125% of label. A coated ascorbic acid grade is available where a wet granulation route or a high-humidity destination market makes it worthwhile. Dose profile has to be set market by market. Indian domestic supply is capped by FSSAI at one RDA per day for vitamins and minerals, and the ICMR-NIN 2020 values are 80 mg vitamin C for men and 65 mg for women, 17 mg and 13.2 mg zinc, and 40 micrograms of selenium, so an export profile written to EU NRVs may need trimming for India. Zinc, selenium and vitamin C each hold authorised nutrient function entries in the EU list of permitted health claims under Commission Regulation (EU) No 432/2012; the exact wording, the 15% NRV significance condition and any local equivalent remain the brand owner's responsibility. Thovek states composition and specification only and makes no therapeutic or disease claim. Excipients are microcrystalline cellulose, dicalcium phosphate, croscarmellose sodium, silicon dioxide, vegetable-source magnesium stearate and an HPMC film coat, giving a vegan tablet with no milk, egg, soy, fish, crustacean, peanut, tree nut or gluten inputs.
