Vidari kand is the tuber of Pueraria tuberosa (Roxb. ex Willd.) DC., a climbing legume of the Fabaceae native to India, Nepal and Pakistan. The Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India correlates this species with the classical dravya Vidari, and it appears in traditional compound preparations including Chyavanaprash. The tuber carries a characteristic isoflavone profile: puerarin (the 8-C-glucoside of daidzein, CAS 3681-99-0, C21H20O9, MW 416.38) together with daidzein, genistein, tuberosin, puetuberosanol, irisolidone and biochanin A. Published HPLC work on an ethanolic tuber extract reported puerarin at 8.31%, daidzein at 1.70% and genistein at 1.37%, which gives a realistic sense of what the native material can carry before any enrichment step. Identity is the commercial risk on this item. At least four botanical entities circulate in the Indian trade under the name Vidari, and several manufacturers substitute Ipomoea mauritiana (synonyms I. digitata, I. paniculata), which the pharmacopoeia treats separately as Kshiravidari and which belongs to a different family entirely. Ipomoea carries no puerarin, so a buyer who specifies puerarin and receives Kshiravidari will fail assay outright. Every Thovek lot is authenticated at the raw-material stage by macroscopy and microscopy and confirmed by HPTLC or HPLC fingerprint against a Pueraria tuberosa reference before extraction, and the CoA names the species that was actually processed. We supply the material in two commercial shapes. Native ratio extracts at 4:1 and 10:1 preserve the full water- or hydroalcohol-soluble fraction and suit classical Ayurvedic formulators who want the whole extractive rather than a single marker. Marker-standardised grades are assayed for puerarin by RP-HPLC-UV at 254 nm and built to a customer target, which suits Western supplement brands and contract manufacturers who need a number on the label and a defensible analytical method behind it. Both are offered carrier-free or on a maltodextrin carrier for flow and blend uniformity, with the carrier and the extraction solvent declared on the certificate. The material is vegan and vegetarian; note that although Pueraria is botanically a legume, it is neither soy nor peanut and is not a declarable allergen in the EU or the US.
