Each is reported individually on the certificate of analysis as well as in the total, because the ratio between them is what separates a genuine leaf catechin fraction from a re-blended isolate. Three numbers move independently on this product and a purchase order that names only one is incomplete. Total tea polyphenols are measured by the Folin-Ciocalteu procedure as gallic acid equivalents and run from roughly 70% to 98%; total catechins are measured by HPLC calculated as EGCG and run from roughly 50% to 90%; the two will not reconcile on the same powder, and a grade sold as '98% polyphenols' typically carries a materially lower catechin sum. Caffeine is the third axis: native leaf caffeine stays in the extract unless it is deliberately removed, so the figure has to be specified rather than inferred from the catechin assay, and the decaffeination route - hot water, supercritical carbon dioxide or ethyl acetate - is stated with its residual solvent limits. Tea polyphenols at 70%, 80%, 90%, 95% and 98% by Folin as gallic acid equivalents, paired with a stated catechin sum so the two numbers cannot be confused. Non-decaffeinated with native leaf caffeine quantified per lot; decaffeinated at NMT 0.5% caffeine; USP-basis decaffeinated at NMT 0.1% anhydrous. Decaffeination by hot water, supercritical CO2 or ethyl acetate, nominated by the buyer and stated on the CoA. Water-soluble, granulated and instantised versions for beverage and effervescent lines. Packaging: 25 kg net in food-grade fibre drums with double LDPE liners inside an opaque outer to shield the catechins from light, palletised and shrink-wrapped for export. 1 kg and 5 kg sample and pilot quantities in heat-sealed aluminium foil laminate pouches with desiccant. Nitrogen flushing offered on the high-catechin grades. Store below 25 C at not more than 60% relative humidity, sealed and away from light; reseal immediately after sampling, since the powder picks up moisture and the catechin profile drifts fastest in a part-used drum.
