Specifications

Product typeTwo-component nutraceutical blend: refined marine omega-3 oil plus coenzyme Q10, filled into softgel capsules to a customer-defined fill weight and ratio.
Marine componentRefined, deodorised fish body oil from small pelagic species (anchovy, sardine, mackerel); natural triglyceride, re-esterified triglyceride or ethyl ester form.
Omega-3 grades offered18/12 TG, 30/20 EE, 33/22 EE and 50/20 rTG, the two figures being EPA and DHA percentage by GC; other ratios made to order.
CoQ10 identityUbidecarenone (coenzyme Q10), CAS 303-98-0, C59H90O4, molecular weight 863.34; all-trans isomer obtained by microbial fermentation, not chemical synthesis.
CoQ10 appearance and assayYellow to orange crystalline powder; identity and assay by HPLC against the USP ubidecarenone monograph on every incoming lot.
Oxidation limits, oil phasePeroxide value 5 meq O2/kg max, p-anisidine value 20 max, TOTOX 26 max, per Codex CXS 329-2017 and the GOED Voluntary Monograph.
Heavy metals, oil phaseCadmium, mercury and inorganic arsenic each 0.1 mg/kg max; lead 0.05 mg/kg max (GOED Voluntary Monograph limits).
Persistent contaminantsDioxins and dioxin-like PCBs 3 pg WHO-TEQ/g max; total PCBs 0.09 mg/kg max on the oil.
Antioxidant and inertingMixed natural tocopherols in the oil phase; nitrogen blanket during blending and filling and in the sealed shipping container.
Softgel shell optionsBovine gelatin (halal or kosher certified on request), fish gelatin, or vegetarian shell of modified starch and carrageenan; glycerol plasticiser.
Allergen statusContains FISH, declarable under EU Regulation 1169/2011 Annex II and US FALCPA. No milk, egg, soy, crustacean, gluten or nut inputs unless a buyer specifies them.
Origin and dietary statusMarine, from wild-caught fish oil; not vegan and not vegetarian. A bovine gelatin shell makes the article bovine as well. Porcine gelatin is not used.
Shelf life and storage24 months from manufacture in the unopened original pack; store below 25 C, dry, away from light and oxygen.
HS code21069099, food preparation put up as a supplement. The sheet value 15042090 is wrong; see the classification note.
This is a finished dosage article, not a raw oil. A refined, deodorised fish body oil is blended with crystalline coenzyme Q10 and mixed natural tocopherols, then encapsulated. The marine phase comes from small pelagic species — anchovy, sardine and mackerel — and is offered as natural triglyceride, re-esterified triglyceride or ethyl ester, in the standard trade concentrations 18/12 TG, 30/20 EE, 33/22 EE and 50/20 rTG, where the two figures are EPA and DHA percentage by GC. Fill weight, EPA/DHA grade and CoQ10 loading are set by the buyer's formulation; Thovek does not impose a fixed ratio. The coenzyme Q10 is ubidecarenone, CAS 303-98-0, C59H90O4, molecular weight 863.34 — a lipid-soluble benzoquinone carrying a ten-unit decaprenyl side chain. Material is sourced from microbial fermentation rather than chemical synthesis, because fermentation yields the all-trans side-chain configuration exclusively, while chemical routes give appreciable cis isomer plus coenzyme Q9 that has to be stripped out. Each lot is a yellow to orange crystalline powder identified and assayed by HPLC against the USP ubidecarenone monograph before it enters the blend. Oxidation control governs this product. The oil phase is held to peroxide value 5 meq O2/kg or less, p-anisidine value 20 or less and TOTOX 26 or less, matching Codex CXS 329-2017 and the GOED Voluntary Monograph, with dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs at 3 pg WHO-TEQ/g or less and total PCBs at 0.09 mg/kg or less. Blending and filling run under nitrogen and the shipping container is gas-flushed. Allergen handling is the other commercial pressure point: the product contains fish and must be declared as such, and a bovine or fish gelatin shell makes the finished article non-vegetarian — a vegetarian shell of modified starch and carrageenan is available where the brand needs it. Any on-pack benefit claim is the brand owner's responsibility under the rules of its own market; Thovek supplies composition and specification only.
