Alpha-GPC capsules

This is a finished dosage form, not a raw material. Each hard capsule carries L-alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine, better known in trade as choline alfoscerate: CAS 28319-77-9, EC 248-962-2, molecular formula C8H20NO6P, 257.22 g/mol, PubChem CID 657272, IUPAC name [(2R)-2,3-dihydroxypropyl] 2-(trimethylazaniumyl)ethyl phosphate. It also appears on documents as sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, glycerophosphorylcholine, GPCho and choline glycerophosphate. The commercial logic is plain nutrient chemistry. The molecule is approximately 40.5% choline by weight, which makes it a concentrated, freely water-soluble delivery form of a nutrient for which the US Daily Value is 550 mg for adults and children four years and older. The US Adequate Intake is 550 mg/day for adult men and 425 mg/day for adult women, with a tolerable upper intake level of 3,500 mg/day for adults. Dose the capsule against those figures and against your destination market's own reference values, and calculate the label declaration on the choline fraction rather than on the Alpha-GPC weight. Sourcing decides the allergen declaration, so settle it before the first purchase order rather than at the customs desk. Industrial Alpha-GPC is produced by chemical or enzymatic deacylation of phosphatidylcholine-enriched soya phospholipids followed by chromatographic purification; smaller volumes are recovered from highly purified soy lecithin or from purified sunflower lecithin. Soy-route material must carry a soy allergen declaration in the EU, the US and most other regulated markets. Sunflower-route material does not, and buyers selling into allergen-sensitive channels should specify it in writing instead of assuming it. Every route is plant-derived, so the capsule is vegan on the standard HPMC shell, with no bovine or porcine input and no BSE/TSE exposure. The other thing to settle early is water. Alpha-GPC is strongly hygroscopic and will pick up moisture and deliquesce if bulk is opened in ambient conditions. The 50% grade on a silicon dioxide carrier exists precisely to make the material free-flowing enough to encapsulate; high-assay material needs humidity-controlled handling right through blending and filling, and ships with desiccant. Supplied in size 0 or size 00 hard capsules with per-capsule loading set to the buyer's label and confirmed on a pre-production sample.
